Design Conversations That Move People and Work Forward.
Leaders are expected to facilitate constantly - team meetings, strategy sessions, workshops, planning conversations, learning experiences, and high-stakes discussions. Yet many have never been taught how to intentionally design and guide a group toward a meaningful outcome.
The Facilitation Lab is a highly applied development experience that helps participants move beyond simply presenting information or managing an agenda. They learn how to design for engagement, create the conditions for productive dialogue, navigate challenging group dynamics, and help people move from conversation to clarity and action.
Through practice, feedback, experimentation, and real-time facilitation, participants build the confidence and skill to lead stronger group experiences.
What You’ll Be Equipped to Do
Design sessions around a clear outcome
Move beyond agenda-building to intentionally structure conversations, activities, and transitions around what participants need to think, decide, create, or do.Facilitate with greater presence and confidence
Strengthen how you open a room, frame conversations, ask questions, read group energy, and adapt in real time without losing the purpose of the session.Increase participation and engagement
Use practical techniques to move beyond passive discussion, invite diverse perspectives, and create meaningful involvement from different personalities and participation styles.Navigate difficult group dynamics
Respond more effectively to resistance, dominant voices, silence, disagreement, tangents, low energy, and other dynamics that can derail progress.Ask stronger questions and guide deeper dialogue
Use questions intentionally to surface assumptions, expand thinking, create reflection, and move groups toward insight and action.Turn conversation into alignment and follow-through
Close discussions with greater clarity around decisions, ownership, commitments, and next steps so the value of the session continues after people leave the room.
“Great facilitation is not about being the smartest person in the room. It is about creating the conditions for the room to do its best thinking.”

What You’ll Experience in The Facilitation Lab
The Facilitation Lab is intentionally practice-heavy. Participants do not simply learn facilitation concepts - they design, test, facilitate, receive feedback, and refine their approach.
The experience begins with the foundations of strong facilitation: purpose, outcomes, audience needs, session flow, psychological conditions, and facilitator presence. Participants then explore practical tools for engagement, questioning, group management, difficult dynamics, and experiential learning.
As the lab progresses, participants build and facilitate their own segments, observe others, receive structured feedback, and practice adapting in real time. Reflection and debriefing help translate practice into greater self-awareness and a more intentional facilitation style.
Participants leave with repeatable frameworks, practical tools, increased confidence, and resources they can immediately apply to meetings, workshops, learning experiences, and high-stakes conversations.
